Milan has studied at in Construction Management between 1998 and 2002, then at Univerza v Mariboru in Civil Engineering between 1992 and 1997, then at Druga Gimnazija Maribor in Science.

Milan worked for University of Cambridge, Laing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology as Invited Supervisor and Guest Professor between Nov 2013 and Oct 2015, for City University London as Guest Professor between Sep 2013 and Oct 2015, for i-RESC (International Institute for Transdisciplinary Research on Critical Infrastructures) as Board Member between Dec 2013 and Sep 2015, for University of Reading as Associate Professor in Construction Management and Engineering; Director of Teaching & Learning between Oct 2006 and Dec 2013, for University of Dundee as Teaching Fellow and Demonstration Projects Co-ordinator between Sep 2003 and Sep 2006, for Midora as Co-founder between Sep 2002 and Sep 2003, for University of Maribor as Teaching and Research Assistant between Aug 2001 and Aug 2002, for Ingrad Gramat d.d. as Production Director between Jun 1997 and Jun 2001.
