Leonard has studied at in Audiology between 1986 and 1989, then at in Psychology between 1978 and 1983, then at South Carleton District High School between 1973 and 1977.

Leonard worked for Unitron Hearing as Audiologist, Marketing between Apr 2005 and Apr 2006, for Dspfactory/AMI Semiconductor as Field Application Engineering / Product Manager between 1998 and 2005, for The University of Western Ontario as Research Audiologist between 1991 and 1997.
