Brian has studied at Seattle University in Finance between 1995 and 1995, then at Copenhagen Business School in International Management between 1988 and 1992, then at Monterey Institute of International Studies in International Marketing between 1991 and 1991, then at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet in Molecular biology and immunology between 1981 and 1987.

Brian worked for Cellastra, Inc. as Board Member between 2012 and 2019, for International Stem Cell Corporation as President between 2009 and 2011, for ACADIA as SVP, Business and Commercial Development between 2004 and 2008, for Genzyme as VP, Business Development between 2000 and 2004, for UCB as VP, Corporate Development between 1998 and 2000, for Novo Nordisk as Director, Business Development between 1987 and 1997.
